The Real Numbers
I've been a registered Democrat, save for one election cycle when I registered Reform, since I first registered back in 1984 at age 18. I grew up in rural southern California and Nevada, so guns were a part of life. I've long believed that RKBA is indeed the reason why it has been 200 years since a foreign power has invaded our soil with armies In fact, I believe I've seen a Japanese General/Admiral paraphrased as saying if they did, there would be a gun behind every blade of grass. These misguided fellow Dems make me very unhappy.

I was a democrat, but now I'm registered independent who voted strong democrat since I first started voting. I, like most southern democrats, believe in being fiscally conservative but socially liberal. I also believe strongly in upholding the US Constitution as drafted by our forefathers, this includes the right to bear arms shall not be infringe. I truly wish the democratic establishment realized how much of the democratic bloc believes the same way and not to give in to the left fringe groups who are just as bad as the republican's tea party bloc. I believe there is a way to keep firearms from those who should not have them without resorting to a blanket ban that does nothing to curb gun violence. A stronger enforcement of laws already in the books as well as enactment of a national/universal background checks are a great start.

I believe in the 2nd Amendment for All to the Right to Bear Arms for Protection, Defense and Hunting. I'm tired as a Democrat to see in the News Democrats who want to take away Our Rights when they have a CCW and Armed Guards for them and their Children. What about Every American Child in our Country? We seem to be the Peasants of the Revolution for the Modern Day! We need to get the News Media's to Stop Blasting a Civilian Semi-Auto weapon as an Assault Weapon, but I do Concur No Civilian needs a 20-30 Round Magazine (IMHO as a Veteran).

So glad I found this site I was looking at the NRA website and i knew I would not be a fit for being a member due to the fact I am a democrat I was starting to think all gun owners were republicans its nice to know I'm not alone with understanding just because a person is democrat dosnt mean they want to take away your guns "democrats don't want your guns, we've got our own". Jus wondering if you have any merchandise like gun cases or duffle bags with your symbol or DFGO printed on them ?

Finally I'm not being forced to support either a group that wants to take away my livelyhood or one that wants to take away my right to defend myself.
This movement is the answer to change the Democratic Party. "Gun Rights" is one of the ploys that the Republican Party uses to garner support from the working middle class.
I'm looking forward to futhering this pro-gun Democratic agenda.

this site rocks

I was researching a Domain Name to start a "Democrats for Guns" site when I found this site. I'm glad I did. I'm a Democrat, I do gun sports and I believe in protecting myself. I think there are a lot of people who would vote Democrat except that they fear, fanned by Republican propaganda, that Democrats will take away their gun rights. Of course, some Democrats would, and I won't vote for them. I will do my best to get the word out on this site. I hope we have a banner at the National Convention.

Finally an organization which doesn't lump all gun owners into the Republican party. This is a basic matter or personal rights and self defense, everyone should support it despite their party. Making sure that gun owners are educated and that those who carry concealed are certified through safety courses.

Way to go, I don't want to sell the whole farm over gun rights and believe that the NRA is doing nothing to influence the vote (their voters have cast their vote for decades, and every year it goes the same way). We are the vote that matters, Democrats should not get a free ride in respect to Gun Rights, always remember, before an election is two party, there are always choices within the party and we need to stand up for the Second Amendment and let our Democratic legislators know this issue is important to us putting them on the ballot in the first place.
Chris McGinn
People have been saying we were going to lose our guns since as far back as I can remember. President Obama actually expanded gun rights so people can stop the BS about him.

Good Morning,
I'm a frustrated voter from Utah. I held my nose and voted for McCain last election because I felt like a vote for Obama was a vote for gun control.
I get queasy listening to self righteous. superstitious republicans and hoplophobic, marxist democrats.
I join you guys in hopes of finding sanity.
Regards,
Kelly

According to a recent poll, approximately 30% of Democrats own firearms while more than 54% of Republicans do. We are in the process of doing our own polling in order to verify these numbers because we believe these numbers are on the rise in the Democratic ranks. How do your Democratic Representatives & Senators feel about protecting the Second Amendment?
In November nearly all 435 Representatives will be fighting for (re)election. Ensure yours are representing your views and best interests!

Well, I'm a Democrat and an NRA member. I live in CT, where my Second Amendment rights have just been taken from me by the state legislature.
So glad I found this site. Now I don't feel alone in this battle.
